Terms & Conditions
Appointments & Bookings
The Plucked String operates by appointment. All lessons, classes, events, and consultation services must be booked in advance via our online booking system.
Bookings are essential to ensure availability and to maintain a structured, high-quality learning environment.
All sessions are scheduled to allow for smooth transitions and punctual starts.
Lesson Structure & Fees
Learning an instrument is a long-term process that benefits from consistency and routine. Our lesson structure is designed to reward students who commit to longer lessons and ongoing weekly attendance.
Extended 60-minute lessons and multi-lesson packages provide greater continuity, deeper instruction, and improved learning outcomes.
All lessons conclude approximately 5 minutes early to allow for smooth transition between students.
Lesson Validity
Lesson packages are valid for 40 days from the date of purchase. We recommend booking lessons in consecutive weeks to maximise continuity and learning outcomes.
Teacher Absence
In the unlikely event of a teacher’s absence, the lesson will be either rescheduled or delivered by another qualified member of The Plucked String team.
Rescheduling & Cancellation
Lesson bookings may be rescheduled once only, provided at least 24 hours’ notice is given prior to the scheduled lesson time. All rescheduling requests must be made via email.
Cancellations are not permitted, and lessons are non-refundable once booked.
Failure to attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice will result in the lesson being forfeited.
Student Absence
If a student is unable to attend a scheduled lesson, the lesson will be forfeited.
Where appropriate, students may arrange for a friend or family member to attend in their place, subject to prior notification and approval.
Instrument Purchases & Returns
All high-end handmade guitars are held on consignment and remain the property of the luthier until sold.
Due to the delicate nature of acoustic instruments, The Plucked String has a no-returns policy on all instruments, accessories, and books once purchased.
Any concerns relating to craftsmanship must be directed to the luthier.
