Where is your studio located?

We are located right in the heart of Southbank, Melbourne. Opposite ANZAC station and Shrine of Remembrance, we are a short walk from the CBD, the arts precinct, and major corporate office hubs, making it easy to drop in on your commute, during a lunch break, or straight after work.
What instruments do you specialize in?

True to our name, The Plucked String specialises in classical guitar as well as plucked stringed instruments from around the world. We offer dedicated experiences in acoustic guitar, ukulele, ancient lyre, and traditional instruments from China, India, and the Middle East, alongside contemporary piano and vocal sessions.
What is the Unlimited Group Pass?

It is our flexible, adult-first lifestyle membership for $149/month. It grants you unlimited access to our entire 17-class weekly group timetable (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday), full access to our Monday night ensemble and workshop tracks, our digital tutorial portal, and our premium studio hospitality.

Yes—in fact, our group classes are designed specifically for you. Our evening rotation blocks are completely focused on informal learning and creative play. There are no intimidating exams, no strict grading, and absolutely no expectations or pressure. You can come to casually learn a basic chord progression, or simply sit back and make beautiful, ambient sounds together with other adults to decompress after a long day at a corporate desk.
We are proud to be an inclusive, multicultural studio. Our early evening Beginner Guitar classes explicitly alternate blocks between English delivery and Mandarin delivery so you can learn in the language you are most comfortable with. Our 8:30 PM Global Sound blocks are entirely universal and non-verbal, focusing purely on playing together.

To maintain an exceptionally high-quality, boutique, and focused environment, every single group class is strictly capped at a maximum of 5 attendees However Guitar Ensemble, Performance Workshop & Chamber Music Workshop may accommodate 20 attendees.
Yes. If your calendar is highly unpredictable, we offer standard 4-lesson group packs for $100 and 10-lesson group packs for $225. These credits can be used flexibly to book any class on our Monday to Friday group timetable, including our Monday night Guitar Ensemble. Single casual attendances can be booked for $30.
Because our classroom capacity is strictly limited to 5 seats, an empty seat directly prevents another student from participating. You can cancel or reschedule any booked slot via our app up to 24 hours before class starts with zero penalty. Late cancellations or failure to show up to a reserved seat will incur a flat $15 no-show fee charged directly to your card on file.
