Appointments & Bookings

The Plucked String operates strictly by appointment. All lessons, classes, events, and sales consulting experiences must be pre-arranged through our online booking system. Bookings are essential to ensure availability and the highest quality experience. Allowed time for all lessons, classes, events, and sales consulting experiences are structured to allow for smooth transitions and on-time starts for all of our clients.

Lesson Structure & Fees

Learning an instrument is a journey that benefits from consistency and routine. Our lesson structure is designed to reward students who commit to longer lessons and consecutive weeks in the studio. By choosing extended 60 minute lessons or a 4-week package, students receive more uninterrupted instruction, better continuity in learning, and more value for their time and investment.

All lessons conclude approximately 5 minutes early to ensure smooth transition between students.

Package Validity

Lesson packages are valid for 40 days from the date of purchase. We recommend scheduling lessons in consecutive weeks to maximise continuity and learning outcomes.

Teacher Absence

In the unlikely event of a teacher’s absence, your lesson will either be rescheduled for a later date or taught by another teacher from The Plucked String team.

Rescheduling & Cancellation

Lessons may be rescheduled by the student at least 12 hours before the scheduled lesson time.

Lessons may not be cancelled and reimbursed.

Student Absence

In the unlikely event of a student absence, the lesson will be forfeited.

If an enrolled student cannot attend your lesson, and are unable to reschedule, students are welcome to arrange for a friend or family member to attend the lesson in their stead.

Instrument Purchases & Returns

All high-end handmade guitars are held in stock as consigned goods and remain the property of the luthier until sale. Any concerns that may emerge about imperfections in the craftsmanship must be made to the luthier directly.

Due to the delicate nature of classical acoustic instrument, The Plucked String has a no-returns policy on all instrument, accessories and book sales.
