Melbourne Community Chinese Music Ensemble

The Melbourne Community Chinese Music Ensemble is a FREE community ensemble run by teachers of

The Plucked String music studio in Southbank.

The ensemble is designed to be an inclusive and encouraging space for musicians from all walks of life to meet like minded individuals, while also gaining hands-on ensemble experience and learning about Chinese music culture.

People of all skill levels are welcome to attend - it's ok if you can’t keep up, we will help you!

Dizi - Erhu - Guzheng - Pipa - Zhongruan - Daruan - Sheng - Hulusi - Sanxian - Yangqin - Percussion

This group is free to attend, although participants must provide their own music stand, instrument & download.

Please Note: Rehearsals are conducted in English, however some of our Mandarin speaking members can help translate.

Please Note: All sheet music we provide is written in both Jianpu & Western Notation.

Please Note: All Chinese musical instruments are welcome.

Rehearsals take place Thursday nights from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at our offices' rooftop rehearsal space located at 370 St Kilda Rd, Southbank.
