Bente Hansen

Bente Hansen is a distinguished performer on classical guitar currently undertaking a bachelor of music performance at the University of Melbourne under the guidance of Alex Tsiboulski.

Having reached the semi-finals of Adelaide's International Guitar Competition in 2025, Bente is an avid performer who is very encouraging of students sharing their music with others.

Bente’s musical talent is well versed across the genres of classical, romantic, contemporary, jazz, pop and rock. Having recorded music across a wide range of genres, Bente understands the necessity of pursuing every avenue of music which speaks to you, a philosophy which helps support a lasting connection with music. While the overall connection one has with music is what drives Bente’s musical philosophy most, technical proficiency is never an afterthought.

Having the technical foundations to be able to transform the thoughts in your head into a tangible story which can be told is essential to fully connect with the music you are making.

Outside of her music, Bente plays national level rugby and competes nationally in surfboat rowing, which gives her an insight into the balance it takes to study the guitar alongside other sometimes conflicting commitments.

Having studied classical guitar at the Conservatoire Populaire de Geneve (Conservatorium of Geneva) under the guidance of Yuri Crusco and Antonello Lixi, Bente is available to teach in English, French and German.
