Damien McCluskey

Currently furthering his Classical Guitar performance studies at the Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne, Damien McCluskey has already accumulated a wealth of performance, recording and teaching experience, which he loves to share with his students.

Damien understands everybody learns in their own way, and has their own personal goals when it comes to learning a musical instrument. He aims always to create a comfortable, positive and personalised learning experience and has successfully prepared many students for AMEB Performance, Music Theory examinations, and for tertiary auditions.

In 2019 Damien commenced a Bachelor of Music at Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University, double majoring in Classical Guitar Performance and Composition under the tutelage of renowned guitar virtuoso Karin Schaupp, and composer Gerard Brophy. He has volunteered extensively as guest director of the Townsville Guitar Orchestra, and is currently furthering his perfromance study  at the University of Melbourne Conservatorium under the tutelage of Dr. Ken Murray.

Damien is also an experienced songwriter & singer. As former frontman of the North Queensland country rock band, Three Mile Road, he has performed at various festivals, won the 2016 Passport to Airlie Battle of the Bands & opened for well know touring artists including:

  • Reece Mastin

  • Kingswood

  • The Delta Riggs

In his spare time Damien has a keen interest in studying a range of musical cultures from around the world, volunteers with Vision Australia assisting in braille music transcription, and is a member of CFA Boronia Volunteer Fire Brigade.
