Damien McCluskey

Damien McCluskey is a graduate of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne, where he completed a Bachelor of Music (Classical Guitar Performance). He has accumulated a wealth of performance, recording and teaching experience, which he loves to share with his students.

Damien understands that everybody learns differently and has their own personal goals when learning a musical instrument. He strives to create a comfortable, positive and personalised learning experience and has successfully prepared many students for AMEB Performance and Music Theory examinations, as well as tertiary music auditions.

In 2019, Damien commenced a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, double majoring in Classical Guitar Performance and Composition under the tutelage of renowned guitarist Karin Schaupp and composer Gerard Brophy. He later completed his Bachelor of Music (Classical Guitar Performance) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne, studying under Dr. Ken Murray. Throughout his career, Damien has volunteered extensively, including serving as guest director of the Townsville Guitar Orchestra.

Damien is also an experienced songwriter and singer. As former frontman of the North Queensland country rock band Three Mile Road, he has performed at numerous festivals, won the 2016 Passport to Airlie Battle of the Bands, and supported well-known Australian artists including:

In his spare time, Damien enjoys studying musical cultures from around the world, volunteers with Vision Australia assisting with Braille music transcription, and is a member of the CFA Boronia Volunteer Fire Brigade.
